Convert bank statement PDF to Zoho Books CSV
Zoho Books imports bank transactions from a CSV, but a raw statement PDF has no columns Zoho can map. StmtSnap converts your bank statement PDF into a CSV laid out for the Zoho Books import screen, so Date, Description, Debit and Credit line up on the first pass.
The Zoho CSV comes from the same conversion as your Excel, Tally XML and QuickBooks files on the Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans. The free tier gives you Excel and CSV.
Convert now
Before you convert: a text PDF stays on your device. If the PDF is a scan, we show a notice before any page is sent to Google Gemini, and scanned pages need a free account. Excel and CSV are free; Tally XML, QuickBooks QBO and Zoho CSV are on paid plans (pricing).
Columns in the Zoho Books CSV
- Date (ISO, YYYY-MM-DD)
- Description from the statement narration
- Reference# (left empty in this version)
- Debit (money out) in its own column
- Credit (money in) in its own column
- Balance where the statement provides one
How to import the CSV into Zoho Books
The first import is the only one you map by hand. Save the mapping as a Zoho template and every later StmtSnap CSV imports without touching the mapping again.
StmtSnap keeps the full narration in the Description column, so Zoho's bank rules have the UPI handle and reference string to work with instead of a truncated label.
Questions
- Does the CSV import straight into Zoho Books?
- Yes. The CSV has Date, Description, Reference#, Debit, Credit and Balance columns for the Zoho Books Import Statement screen.
- Do I have to map columns every time?
- Only the first time. Save the mapping as a Zoho import template and later StmtSnap CSVs import with it.
- Is the Zoho Books export free?
- No. The Zoho CSV is on the Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans. The free tier gives you Excel and CSV.
- Can I get Excel and Tally from the same conversion?
- Yes. On a paid plan one conversion produces Zoho CSV, Excel, plain CSV, Tally XML and QuickBooks QBO.
- Which banks are supported for Zoho Books?
- Any bank whose statement is a text PDF with a column header naming a date column and at least one money column (Debit/Credit, Withdrawal/Deposit, a single Amount, or Balance). A scanned PDF has no text to read, so it goes through the scanned-page path instead: you see a notice first, and it needs a free account.
