Convert SBI bank statement PDF to Excel

SBI statements downloaded from OnlineSBI or YONO come as PDFs with a description column that mixes transaction type, reference and counterparty. StmtSnap reads the SBI layout and puts the date, description, debit, credit and balance into separate Excel columns.

Excel and CSV are free, plus Tally XML, QuickBooks QBO and Zoho CSV on paid plans.

Text PDFs are converted in this browser and never uploaded. Scanned PDFs are read by Google Gemini, and we ask first.

Before you convert: a text PDF stays on your device. If the PDF is a scan, we show a notice before any page is sent to Google Gemini, and scanned pages need a free account. Excel and CSV are free; Tally XML, QuickBooks QBO and Zoho CSV are on paid plans (pricing).

Columns on a typical SBI statement

  • Txn Date
  • Value Date
  • Description (UPI / NEFT / ATM / cheque detail)
  • Ref No. / Cheque No.
  • Debit
  • Credit
  • Balance

The export keeps the transaction date, the full description and the amount split into debit and credit, plus the running balance. Value-date and cheque/reference columns are not exported in this version; a reference printed inside the narration stays in the description.

How to download your SBI e-statement PDF

  1. Log in to OnlineSBI or open the SBI YONO app.
  2. Go to Account Statement → select your account and date range.
  3. Download as PDF (SBI states the PDF password format in the statement email or on screen).
  4. Open the PDF in StmtSnap and download the Excel file.

SBI prints a running balance on every row. StmtSnap keeps it in the Balance column and checks each row against it, so you can tie the Excel back to the statement line by line.

UPI, ATM and branch entries carry different text in SBI's description column. The full description is kept as printed, so a filter on "UPI" or "ATM" in Excel works the way you expect.

Questions

Is the SBI statement converter free?
Yes. 15 pages per month are free with no credit card required.
Does it read SBI YONO and OnlineSBI PDFs?
The converter locates the column header in whatever PDF you open, so it does not depend on which channel produced it. Check the balance result on your first statement either way.
Can I convert the SBI statement to Tally?
Yes, on paid plans (Starter, Pro, Enterprise). See the SBI to Tally page for the import steps.
Does it handle password-protected SBI statements?
Yes. Type the PDF password when asked. The file is unlocked in your browser; neither the PDF nor the password is uploaded.
How accurate is SBI parsing?
Every conversion is checked before you download: the running balance row by row, and the opening and closing balances where the statement prints them. A SBI statement that did not read cleanly shows as a mismatch instead of a tidy but wrong file. If that happens, email us the layout with the numbers blanked out.
